MICH DULCE SS09

I've always been a fan of Mich Dulce's clean lines and structural dresses. So I'm pretty happy that Theodore's in Bonifacio High Street decided to carry her complete Spring Summer line. I mean, she is going global with stockists in the UK and France already (represent!) so I think it it's just proper that its conveniently available locally in a store as hip as Theodore's. Heres a few favourite snippets from her collection.

Aaagh, love the sleeves and the hat that comes with this one, and the color, dusky taupe, is just perfect for summer.

Know that skip-a-heartbeat feeling when you see the boy of your dreams? Mine did when I saw this trouser. HEART!

The asymmetric curved neckline on this tank draws attention, but its the paperbag waist, volume dhoti shorts that comes in this rich blue color that definitely sealed the deal.

Deep burgundy in a fitted dress with cape sleeves. So glamorous.

I like this floor length number because it's not the typical take on a feminine dress, it still attitude and rockstar. But in a maxi dress. I'd so wear it.

Structural details.

SANTIGOLD IN BORACAY

It wasn't an urban legend, she did perform in Boracay. I was just in the right place at the right time. When rumors started filtering through the vines, I was like, CMON. Santogold? As in SANTOGOLD? Oo nga. Sha nga. Heads up and confirmation from Elmer of Saga, and later from Direk Robby himself, four nights before she was due to perform. Freakin A!!!! And the rationalization behind the non-marketing of the whole event? Because, If I may quote Robby Carmona, or some pseudo version of what he said, "Just like in New York, you step into a club not knowing who will perform, only to find out that its some big name DJ, its not hyped, not advertised, you just happen to stumble into a cool party that incidentally happens to be THE party to be in. It's effortless. It's different." It's freakin fantastic!! Woop! Of course had to elbow my way in to get prime viewing area, just a spit and cartwheel away from her, front and center. Damn. She. Was. Awesome.

The playlist. Had to rotate that 180 degrees, it was taped to the floor.

I'm trying to guess who she's wearing. Cassette Playa? Carri Mundane?

Gold Reebok Freestyles. Drool.

The dancers were so 80's retro. Dance and outfit included.

Sleb spotting, DJ Spoonman with Victor Basa.

Robby: YEAH!!

Okay, super fan moment, I went up on stage. Cmon, when will I ever share a platform with Santogold again? Like. Never? Deadmah, stage kung stage.

GRABBING PHOTOS

Verushka sent me a message that she saw me at thebaghag and couldn't resist grabbing the photos. Thanks Ingrid!! Hope you don't mind that I reposted it here. Totally channelling Balmain. haha.

SEASHELLS SHOES

I walk up to Fluxxe and I see a bunch of girls I've never seen before. But I noticed that they were all rocking pretty fierce footwear. So naturally, I had to ask Sarah of Taken By Cars, (DJ for the night) if the newbies were with her. And yeah, apparently they were. Introductions over the din of electro music found me chatting with this cute-as-a-button chicky, Karla, who incidentally sells shoes, like the one she's wearing, online. Check it out at zooshop where I'm sure drool will fall from mouths everywhere. Too bad though that most are sold out. Well, there's always the next shipment. Kanya kanya na toh!

SAMSUNG LAUNCH

I can't remember the last time all three Editor-in-Chiefs of the major local glossies were in one stage. I would have expected a scene, but it was all pretty mellow. Had to take a picture for documents sake. Carla Sibal of Mega, Katrina Holigores of Metro and Pauline Suaco-Juan (in Jasmine De Milo) of Preview. I don't know about those patterned tights on the host though. I find it way too distracting. Ngur.

Embellished blazer for the win!
Isha Andaya of stylebible.ph in a Joey Samson jacket, Topshop tank and PVC leggings, Report Signature shoes.

I met THE BAG HAG herself, and found her really nice, effortlessly pretty and so Übersophisticate. Winning combo if I say so myself. Ingrid in a BCBG LBD, Celestina clutch and pumps from HK.

And of course I was riveted by the pattern of his trousers, a reworked dhoti thats pseudo flat front trouser? Wotever it is, me likey. Joey in a Margiela shirt, Paul Smith belt, Lanvin sneakers, Trousers his own design and Karine Arabian bag.

JEREMY SCOTT GIANT TREFOIL

Franco in a Russian Hat from Germany, (hmm, Russian but in Germany?), Topman shirt, Costume National trousers, thrifted shoes.

STREET STYLE SPOTTING

Ack, I saw her and I just go, hoe hem gee, you are so Alexander Wang!! I loves it. I mean, who would have thought that anyone here in Philo would get, much more rock the cropped shirt trend, but on Sarah, it just looks ultra fab. Rowr.
